Musings From The Parkland

Just read “Alive Undead” by Brian Bowyer. Thought it was great.

Recently read “Thanksgiving Day Massacre” by Brian G. Berry and it too was a fantastic read.

Also recently read “Woom” by Duncan Ralston and it blew me away.

What I'm Watching

Just finished watching the series “The Last Of Us” and really enjoyed it.

I also just finished the series “Luther” and it was also great.

I watched the film “The Void” and enjoyed it.

What I'm Listening To

People Of Interest

Authors who made a big impression on me.

Alistair MacLean who got me interested in reading to begin with.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle whose character Sherlock Holmes has no match, and whose book “The Hound of the Baskervilles” was my first horror.

James Herbert whose book “The Rats” was my first modern horror novel that I read.

Stephen King who got me interested in the horror genre and who got me thinking in terms of “what if?”

Robert B. Parker whose writing style and gift with dialogue shaped my own writing style more than any other writer.

Joe R. Lansdale who showed me the possibilities of our craft.

Random Thoughts

If I could go back in time, I’d make sure George Romero got his distributor to put a copyright on his film, “Night of the Living Dead.”
